World Rabies Day is Sept. 28

Thursday is World Rabies Day, launched in 2007 to raise awareness about the public health impact of rabies on humans and animals. Rabies remains a major concern worldwide, killing more than 55,000 people every year. To help spread the message and educate the public about the risk of rabies, the AVMA has developed and gathered a number of rabies resources for animal owners and veterinarians, including handouts and fliers for veterinarians to share at their clinics.
