Researchers investigate why belugas in Cook Inlet remain endangered

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is funding a three-year study on why the population of beluga whales in the Cook Inlet of Alaska has not recovered, despite protections. Researchers will study the effects of predators, industrial noise, feeding habits and social structures.
