Ernest Hemingway’s Cats Survive Hurricane Irma

When Hurricane Irma roared across Florida, it headed straight for Florida’s Key West. Authorities warned of extensive damage but fortunately, the damage seems to have been less than feared, especially at the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, home of 54 cats.

Curator David Gonzales said he rode out the storm along with the cats in the building, which is built out of limestone-block walls that make the building into a fortress against the elements.
